All Ready For Your Favorite Toppings!! Nachos Anyone?
It is a well-known fact that I love nachos. In fact, I think most of us do. Once again, there are recipes galore out there in the universe, but you really don't need a recipe, you need some creativity, plain and simple. I'm a big believer in trying all kinds of topping ideas and have not found anything that has not worked in my mind to date. I do like mine baked in my cast iron skillet, but even baking them is your choice. Because I have a family member who cannot have tomato-based items, I tend to look elsewhere for my ingredients. I have also been known to do a half and half batch. That said, now we come to the toppings for the topping, does that even make sense?? The go to favorites is salsa, sour cream, diced avocado and chopped black olives in my family, and I am sure you have other ideas in yours...
Today I whipped up one of my favorite combinations that I like on mine, here is what I did today:
Preheated my oven to 375 degrees
Lightly sprayed my cast iron skillet
Added my tortilla chips
Crumbled precooked ground turkey over
Tore apart some precooked broccoli florets into small pieces and added
Crumbled some precooked bacon over the broccoli
Baked for12minutes
Topped with some shredded cheese and baked 2 minutes longer
Served with some sour cream
It's just that simple, a great way to use up leftovers, and isn't that what cooking is all about, simplicity and using up what we are lucky enough to have on hand!!
Happy cooking and Stay Safe!!
