A Litte Dab Will Do Ya!! Not Takeout, Better!! Got 10 Minutes?

My first blog post was in December of 2016, my family had gifted me the blog all set up and ready to go much to my surprise. Doing a blog had never entered my mind, but there you go, who knew! It has been a fun experience, but I do have to say those who do it as a living/career on a daily basis have my admiration, especially these days with all the photos, videos and extras you need to compete in food blogs. Also add in all the new gadgets that come out on a regular basis, hard to keep up. I, on the other hand, keep it as simple as possible because even that is a challenge to this old lady at times. That being said, I want to thank the ones who have been with me since day one, and there are a lot of you, and also thank the new joiners through the years, and there are a lot of you! Thank you for the great texts, emails, and even some ideas along the way. I hope each and every one of you have a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year!!

Today I have combined two of my favorite foods, shrimp and cauliflower in a yummy sauce. Was wanting something along the lines of a takeout something, so this is what I came up with. If you don't like shrimp or cauliflower, try broccoli and chunks of fresh salmon, works great too!! If you have followed my blog, you know that I recommend using a tad of a jam or jelly in my dishes to add a little elegance to it. it's just that simple! A punch of yum that goes a long way.

Here is what I did:

First, I mixed together:

1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon apple jelly, or jelly of choice

1 1/2 teaspoons of stout stoneground mustard, or mustard of choice

1 teaspoon of a teriyaki marinade

A little goes a long way, of course you would use amounts you would prefer for taste and amount of food you are making

Next:

I sauteed in coconut oil, or way of choice

Pre steamed cauliflower florets, until starting to brown

Then:

I pushed my cauliflower to the side of the pan and added my peeled deveined raw shrimp, cooking 2 minutes per side or until nice and pink on each side

Last:

I added my sauce stirring in for another minute or so until shrimp was done to my liking

This entire recipe took about 10 minutes to prepare

I ate as is but sometimes would put over rice or noodles

I didn't even use any added spices, but of course that is up to you

Again, I say, if you want to take a sauce or even a recipe to the next level, try a little dab of a jam or jelly, you might surprise yourself.......

Stay safe, Happy Cooking!!
